Sync Google Calendar

LifeHacker got me going on this with this post about an application to sync Outlook with Google Calendar. I looked around and found that Airset, Funambol and others came up.

I also tried “SyncMyCal” that is mentioned in the article, but it was quirky to work with and while I did get their web calendar to sync with my Google Calendar, I couldn’t get the Outlook plugin to do anything.

I ended up downloading a closed source program, CompanionLink, that syncs nicely with Google Calendar, Outlook, and my Palm Desktop. It does cost $29 to buy. (I’m using an evaluation copy.) But I like that it can “purge” Google and add Outlook, so there are no duplicate entries. It also was a breeze to set up and it worked the first time.

There is a free version called GMigrate that migrates Outlook data oneway to Google Calendar.
