Greetings from Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

I’m with colleagues from the Ivy League universities, plus MIT, Stanford and the “Sister Colleges” (Smith, Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, Bryn Mawr, Vassar, Barnard). This is a year end meeting to talk about the year in admissions and other topics. A number of my college counselor colleagues are here as well. We’re here as “associate members” because we worked at one of the member colleges/universities in the past.

The folks with me in the photo below are college counselors in Los Angeles. Terry, who is on my right, is at Oakwood School in Hollywood. And, to my left are Tamara and Cahn. They work at Harvard-Westlake School in North Hollywood.

Here are other photos I took this evening.

Meeting at Wellesley College

In other news, yesterday as I was about to leave Orange County, I ran into Roy, a friend from MIT who I hadn’t seen in six years. I read Roy’s application when he applied to MIT as a high school senior. I was so impressed by Roy’s application that I followed it through the admissions process. I made sure to meet him when he got to campus as a freshman and we’ve been friends every since. We were out of touch when I went to work at Stanford and later moved. But we got back in touch by e-mail and telephone when he and his wife had their son, Matthew, 18 months ago. However, we hadn’t seen each other and I hadn’t met his wife and son.

So, yesterday’s chance meeting at John Wayne Airport was delightful. Roy and his family were on their way back to the Bay Area from having spent Mother’s Day visiting his wife’s family.

I don’t think I know Roy. Either that or my memory is just getting worse and worse! :p

Perhaps he was there (MIT?) after I left MA? Cute kid though! :)
