NAU and Flagstaff

I started my tour of Arizona colleges at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. It’s a very cool small university in a funky town. I’m impressed by the fitness activities I see around me. People are out running and bicycling. There are vans filled with people going into the mountains.

Flagstaff sits at 7000 feet, which is higher than Denver, Boulder, Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Going to university here has all the benefits of being in Colorado, with the added benefit of skiing being right out your front door. But it doesn’t have the bad reputation that Boulder has, to my knowledge.

I like that there’s no traffic, even though there’s lots of activity in town. The Arizona Cardinals are at NAU for training camp.
